Last Updated 4/2/2024Posted in Public Notices

John Gallina, co-founder and CEO of Purple Heart Homes, has been making significant strides not only in aiding veterans but also in the realm of small business advocacy. His recent appointment to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council marks a pivotal step in his journey to make a meaningful impact beyond his immediate community.

A Nonpartisan Voice for Small Businesses

The NSBA stands as the nation’s oldest advocacy organization dedicated to the interests of small businesses, operating on a strictly nonpartisan basis.
Gallina's inclusion in the NSBA Leadership Council is a testament to his leadership and dedication within the small-business community. This prestigious council comprises small-business advocates from across the country, all united in their goal to promote and protect the interests of small businesses to the policymakers in Washington, D.C.

Gallina's motivation for joining the NSBA Leadership Council is deeply rooted in his day-to-day experiences as a small business owner. He understands firsthand the critical importance of being actively involved in shaping the laws and regulations that affect small businesses. "Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress,” Gallina stated, highlighting his commitment to making a difference at the national level.

A Hero’s Journey

John Gallina’s story is one of valor and resilience. Serving in the North Carolina Army National Guard, he was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom II, where he was severely injured by an IED, earning him a Purple Heart. Upon returning to civilian life, Gallina co-founded Purple Heart Homes, a noble initiative aimed at providing housing solutions for service-connected and aging veterans. This venture not only showcases his dedication to supporting fellow veterans but also underscores his leadership and entrepreneurial spirit.

Advocating for Small Business Concerns

Gallina’s role in the NSBA Leadership Council underscores his commitment to tackling critical issues facing small businesses today, such as tax reform, regulatory restraint, healthcare costs, and the impact of access to capital on small business growth. The council focuses on fostering valuable networking opportunities among small business advocates nationwide while ensuring that small businesses have a voice when Congress and regulators consider key small-business proposals.

NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken expressed his enthusiasm about Gallina’s involvement: “I am proud to have John Gallina as part of our Leadership Council. He came to us highly recommended, and I look forward to our coordinated efforts for years to come.”

A Bright Future Ahead

John Gallina’s journey from a decorated veteran to a champion for small businesses and veterans’ welfare is truly inspirational. His recent appointment to the NSBA Leadership Council is not just a personal achievement but a beacon of hope for small businesses and veterans alike. With leaders like Gallina at the forefront, the future looks promising for both the small business community and veterans in need of support.
