Flowers that Tell a Story

Last Updated 3/21/2024Posted in On The Farm

Denise Arciszewski has always been a farmer at heart. Though she made her career in aerospace, she loves to tell stories about growing up on a dairy farm. “We raised everything. We had pigs, and beef cows, and chickens, you name it”, says Denise, owner of Power Petals. After moving here from Connecticut six years ago, and purchasing a home surrounded by pasture, Denise knew she wanted to get back into farming. Though this time, with something very different – flowers.

What started as a couple of raised beds soon turned into a backyard full of flowers. “I always wanted flowers”, Denise shares. But she wanted to do more than just grow flowers, “I have to still tell stories, because that’s what I do”. Denise started adding the meaning of the flowers to the petals, and so was born, Power Petals. Denise brings her flowers to the farmers market, and also uses love of teaching to host classes and workshops, where individuals can learn to build their own arrangements.
