A One-Stop Shop for Mobile Homes in Iredell County
by Candace Lagerhausen
When Jake Aaron and Brett Carlile saw the need for more affordable housing options, they got right to work. In 2019, these childhood best friends started ACME Homes. What started as a business flipping mobile homes quickly turned into something much bigger. Just one year later in 2020, ACME homes expanded to provide a service moving and setting up mobile homes, and managing rent-to-own properties – and they’re not done yet.
“Our goal is to become a one-stop shop”, Jake says as he talks about their plans to open a sales lot sometime in the near future. Their goal is to have both new and used inventory, in order to cater to a variety of buyers. ACME Homes has remained quite busy since their opening, likely due to the lack of people remaining in this industry. “There’s not many people coming in to fill the gap”, said Brett, referencing the growing number of people retiring from this type of work. Luckily, Jake and Brett enjoy what they are doing, and plan to keep growing, right here in Iredell County. “Statesville is a prime spot” Jake said, and shared that they are hoping to open their sales lot in the area.
